To create your try-on looks, needs to process photos of you and your clothes, including your face, hair and body shape.

We use them only to give you outfit, accessory, hair and shopping suggestions.

Your photos are private to you and encrypted, and they are not used to train AI models or shown to anyone else.

Some processing is done by service providers outside Kenya under written agreements that protect your data.

You can delete your photos at any time in Settings, and deleting your account removes them within 30 days.

You can let use some of your looks in its marketing. You can say no and still use Zangu Zangu with the 1-day trial.

  • Nothing is used now. We can only ask to use your images after you have paid for 3 months.
  • Even then, we show you each image and it is used only if you approve it.
  • Images may show your face and body. You will choose whether your face is visible.
  • You are not paid for the use of your images. The free month is the benefit.
  • You can withdraw any time in Settings with one tap. If you withdraw, your premium access ends immediately and we stop using your images and remove them from our own channels within 30 days. We cannot take back copies that other people have already saved or shared.
  • You must be 18 or older.

Plans and try-ons

Your wardrobe has no limit. Plans set how many clothing photos you can add each month; try-ons show clothes on you.

What you have

Monthly upload plans

Each plan lasts 30 days from when your payment is confirmed. Pay again before it ends and the next 30 days start when this one ends. Body photos and profile pictures don't count.

For sellers

Seller plans include uploads only. Add try-ons below if you want them. Over 3,000 photos a month? Email for a price.

Try-ons

One outfit is up to 3 garments shown on you together. Try-ons don't expire. A try-on that fails is given back. If you report one, we check it and give it back if something went wrong.

You'll go to Paystack's secure checkout to pay by M-Pesa or card, then come back here. Your plan or try-ons are added as soon as the payment goes through.

Who can use Zangu Zangu

You must be 18 or older. One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself.

What Zangu Zangu does

Zangu Zangu shows you wearing your own clothes and suggests looks, accessories, hairstyles and items to buy. Try-on images are a visual guide, not a promise of fit. You always decide what to wear and buy.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos you upload. You give us permission to process them only to provide Zangu Zangu to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Only upload photos of yourself, and never explicit or abusive images.

Free offer, plans and payments

The first 500 people to sign up get 20 clothing photos and some try-ons free, once. After that, adding clothing photos needs a monthly plan, and try-ons are bought in bundles. Your wardrobe is never limited or locked: you keep all your clothes and saved looks whether or not you pay. A plan lasts 30 days from when your payment is confirmed and doesn't renew by itself; unused photos don't carry over. Try-ons don't expire. Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are made by M-Pesa or card through Paystack, and what you paid for is added once Paystack confirms the payment. [Refund policy.]

What we collect

Your photos

Photos of your face and body are sensitive personal data. They are private to you and encrypted. We never show them to anyone else and never use them to train AI models. We only use a look in our marketing if you separately agree and then approve that specific image.

Who processes your data

Some processing is done by service providers, including some outside Kenya (hosting, database, image processing, SMS and email), each under a written agreement that protects your data and stops them using it for their own purposes. [To confirm before launch: Vercel (hosting and photo storage), Neon (database, Germany), Anthropic (photo checks, tagging and outfit suggestions, USA), Poof (background removal for clothing photos, EU), Photoroom (background removal for clothing photos, USA), FASHN or Genlook (virtual try-on), Paystack (payments by M-Pesa or card; we never see card details or M-Pesa PINs), MET Norway (weather, rounded location only), Resend (email). Signed data processing agreements with each.]

How long we keep it

While your account is open. When you delete your account, your photos and data are deleted straight away and no later than 30 days. We keep only an anonymous note that a deletion happened.

Your rights

You can see, correct, export and delete your data, withdraw consent and object to processing. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
